Passion Makes Perfect
Gretchen started gretchenbaum.com with the goal of sharing and selling her artwork. Baum's career started in the fashion industry and interior design. Originally, pen and ink and print making were her mediums. Honestly, she was afraid to add color to her designs with the fear of ruining them. 5 years ago, Gretchen had a painting lesson and with a local artist and since then she hasn't stopped painting. Her paintings are inspired by fashion, interior design, her sailing travels, thoughts and experiences. What started out as a fear has now become Baum's escape/passion. She paints at night when no one is watching. Her paintings create something new and beautiful. Enjoy her adventures portfolio. 2024

This was painted in Newport RI after a walk on 2nd Beach. I picked up a couple pieces of driftwood and then the print making began. At the end of my painting, I added red rings to symbolize the circle of life.
